In 1978, at age 27, John co-founded Prairie Seed & Sales Inc. and in 1980,
also helped start Arkansas County Seed Co., Inc. These companies traded
seed, grain, feed ingredients and other commodities. John divested his
interest in Prairie Seed & Sales in 1986 and obtained 100% of Arkansas
County Seed Co., where he was heavily involved in winter seed oat
production, development, and marketing for agricultural and cattle
production. From these beginnings in the late 1980's, John oversaw the
transformation of Arkansas County Seed into what it is today, the world's
leading White-tailed Deer Food Plot Seed Company.
Morgan Butler was born on November 03, 1975, in Stuttgart, AR.
After graduating in 1998 with a Bachelors degree in Marketing from the
University of Arkansas, Morgan decided that it would be best to first gain
work experience through other companies before coming back to the family
business. Morgan first went to work as a wholesale grain merchandiser in
Vicksburg, MS. After a short time he returned to Arkansas and became a
salesman for an electrical wholesale supply company. He continued with
electrical sales until 2001 when he took a job as a loan office with Bank of
America in Little Rock. Morgan worked as a banker for 3 years until 2004
when the decision was made that is was time to start learning the family
business.
Currently, Morgan is Vice President of Arkansas County Seed Co., Inc. and
Southland Transport Services of Stuttgart, LLC. Morgan's main function
within Arkansas County Seed is sales and promotion. As an avid deer
hunter since age 9, selling and promoting Buck Forage Products is the
perfect fit.
Jake Butler was born in Stuttgart, AR on January 13, 1978. He grew up
enjoying the abundant outdoor activities the Stuttgart area has to offer, and
developed his love for White-tailed Deer hunting with his father, John Butler,
during this time.
In 1996, upon graduation from Stuttgart High School, Jake continued his
education at the University of Arkansas, majoring in Marketing Management.
While in college, Jake worked in the chemical and fertilizer industry and,
later, in the banking industry until returning home in 2002 to begin work
with his father in the family business, marketing winter oats for cattle
forage as well as for White-tailed Deer Food Plots.
Jake is currently Vice President of Arkansas County Seed Co, as well as
Southland Transport Service of Stuttgart. He is active in all aspects of the
business, but spends most of his time working with the many wholesale
seed suppliers across the country who offer Buck Forage Oats and Buck
Forage Chicory. He also works with assisting in research projects, in an
effort to keep Buck Forage Products the top brand of Food Plot Seed around.
